The government is prepared to introduce a new program to help the traditional artisans and craftsmen. To administer the “PM Vishwakarma Yojana” program, the government has called a conference of senior state officials, representatives from public sector banks, and the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC). The “PM Vishwakarma” program will help traditional artists and craftspeople. It is anticipated to go live for charitable purposes next month.
PM Vishwakarma Yojana – The program will debut on September 17
The program is being launched with the intention of assisting traditional craftspeople and artisans. There is a total provision of Rs 13,000 crore under this. The Ministry of MSME, the Ministry of Skill Development, and the Ministry of Finance will implement the program, which will be unveiled on September 17. According to a representative of the PM Vishwakarma plan, the objective for the current fiscal year is to add more than three lakh beneficiaries.
To improve skills, training will be provided for 4-5 days
The official announced that a meeting had been scheduled for August 28 by the Ministry of Skill. Chief secretaries of states, MDs of banks, and representatives of SLBC have been invited to this. According to the official, the discussion would cover the PM Vishwakarma scheme’s proposed execution and the method for selecting the program’s recipients. The program would provide skilled professionals with 4-5 days of training to improve their skills.
After training, artisans will be eligible to borrow money
After training, individuals will be qualified to borrow money. The representative stated, “We have set a target of providing loans to three lakh recipients during the current financial year. Rural communities will receive special consideration under the program. On August 15, during his speech from Red Fort, Prime Minister Modi announced this program. PM Modi had stated at the time that the government would launch the PM Vishwakarma Yojana at a cost of between 13,000 and 15,000 crores.
The cabinet has already given the plan their blessing
Following the cabinet meeting, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav stated that this program will provide craftsmen with loans totaling Rs 1 lakh in the first installment and Rs 2 lakh in the second installment. This loan will have an extremely low-interest rate of about 5%.
