PPF Account Interest: Indian Post Office has increased the facility of its bank. Let us inform you that the Post Office Bank has improved its clients’ services even further. Public Provident Fund (PPF) accounts can now be opened and closed online by holders of savings accounts.

Let us inform you that the Modi administration at the center is emphasising digital services overall. After which the post office increased the digital services available for its Saving Bank Account Holder (POSB). In this sequence, now with DoP Internet Banking, users will be able to open their PPF account themselves and can close the PPF account after the completion of maturity. This information was included in the circular that the post office released on August 30, 2022.

DOP Internet Banking  
You can open and close a PPF account under POSB User Common Services by logging into DOP Internet Banking. In this only you DOP internet banking user can open PPF account in your name only. DoP Internet Banking users will be able to create a nominee in their PPF account which is linked to their POSB account.

Such opened PPF account
The possibility to open a PPF account online has been made available to the digital user. If you are a DOP internet banking user and want to open your PPF account sitting at home. You can easily open a PPF account by following these steps.

First of all login to DOP Internet Banking

• First click on the General Services option
• After that go to Service Requests
• Now select the option New Requests appearing on the screen
• Now click on PPF Accounts
• Now select Open a PPF Account
• The account can be started for the first time by depositing a minimum of Rs 500 and a maximum of Rs 1.5 lakh in multiples of 50.
• After this link the PPF account with the savings account (POSB) of that post office so that automatic transfer can be done in your PPF account easily.
• After reading the relevant terms and conditions of the Post Office Department, click on the Click Here button
• Now click on submit online button
• Enter the Transaction Password you got at the end and submit
• By clicking on this option View / Download Deposit Receipt, download this copy and keep it safe.
• Check your final status with the help of details.

Close such account 

Under this option, only mature PPF accounts will be closed. Firstly, PPF account closure is allowed. You have to visit the concerned post office, fill out the PPF account closure form, and complete the process with a passbook and other required documents.
