In the 17th IPL 2024 match, Punjab Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by a margin of 3 wickets. Gujarat was defeated in this game at Narendra Modi Stadium, home field. meaning that six runs were now required to win in five balls. The umpire called the next ball wide as well, but Captain Gill reviewed it and, at the request of Gujarat wicketkeeper Wriddiman Saha it went in his favour. Then on the third ball of the over, Harpreet Brar took 1 run and now Shashank Singh had come on strike, who was playing quick innings. Shashank hit a powerful four on the fourth ball. Now 1 run was needed in two balls and this winning run was not scored with the bat but through leg bye on the fifth ball and Punjab won by chasing the target of 200 runs.
