With Navratri, the nation’s festival season has begun this year. Many thousands of people come home during Chhath Puja and Diwali. Aside from reserved seats in trains, it gets harder to find a seat at this period, even in the general cabin. But perhaps not this time around, passengers won’t have any issues. This year, Indian Railways will operate 283 festive special trains until Chhath Puja in an effort to limit the number of people crammed onto trains. There will be a total of 4480 trips made by these trains in order to deliver people to their destinations.

According to railway sources,

special trains would operate on these routes. Kochuveli-Bengaluru, Baras-Mumbai, Howrah-Raxaul, Ambala-Saharsa, Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, and Muzaffarpur are among the locations for which Festive Special Trains 2023 will operate. There are numerous roads mentioned, including Danapur-Saharsa, Danapur-Bengaluru, Okha-Naharlagun, Sealdah-New Jalpaiguri, Yesvantpur, and Puri-Patna. Passengers’ convenience was the reason behind these actions.

Indian Railways reports that similar to previous years, there is a chance that there will be a sizable crowd in trains (Festive Special Trains 2023) during the festival season. Because of this, extra measures for maintaining cleanliness on platforms, stations, retiring rooms, and waiting areas have been mandated. Major stations still have “May I Help You” booths running. Passengers can voice their grievances or recommendations to the RPF jawan or TTE stationed at these booths. Stations will now have access to train information thanks to special arrangements.
