Railways News: Railways starts new ticketing service, will get rid of long lines

Railway Ticketing System: If you too have to stand in long lines to book train tickets, then there is good news for you. Indian Railways has introduced a new facility for ticketing at stations.

Railway Ticketing System: With the convenience of passengers in mind, Indian Railways has launched a new ticketing service, freeing them from waiting and long lines. Under this, rail passengers will now be able to make digital payments for the renewal of journey tickets, platform tickets, and monthly passes at automated ticket vending machines by scanning QR codes from UPI-based mobile apps like Paytm, PhonePe, and Freecharge.

In the new facility, passengers will also be able to make payments through digital transactions for the facilities provided by the Automatic Ticket Vending Machine. Passengers can also recharge ATVM smart cards through this. On the occasion of starting this facility on behalf of the Railways, appealed to the passengers to pay maximum in digital mode and get rid of long queues.

In the first phase, this facility was started at a few stations. Feather
At such stations, the Railway Board often received complaints from passengers about waiting in queues for hours to get tickets. Many a times passengers miss out on the train due to long queues at the stations. In the first phase, it has been started at only a few stations, gradually the passengers will be able to avail this facility at all the stations across the country.

Captain Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer, stated
For this, North Western Railway has arranged UPI QR codes for all services in ATVMs installed at railway stations. Passengers can obtain the ticket by scanning the QR code and making a digital payment via phone. Apart from this, passengers can also use it to recharge AVTM smart cards. After scanning it and making the payment, the passengers will get the ticket to their destination immediately.
