The Centre is currently getting ready to operate the Amrit Bharat Express train after operating the semi-high speed Vande Bharat on several routes around the nation for four years. On December 30, it is anticipated that Prime Minister Modi will launch two Amrit Bharat trains. The amenities found in first-class trains are provided by this one. In this, pull-push technology has been applied. As the start of the train draws near, the Railways has notified all zones that the minimum fare for the “Amrit Bharat Express” for trips between 1 and 50 km will be Rs 35.
The cheapest ticket is Rs 35.
The Economic Times reported that other fees including a reservation price are not included in the Rs 35 ticket. The “Fare Table” for Amrit Bharat train fares has been made public. A list of second-class and sleeper category fares broken down by distance has been released. On December 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the inaugural Amrit Bharat train from Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. There will be sleepers and second-class coaches on this train. According to sources, the Railway Ministry is working on lowering the cost of AC coaches.
17 percent higher fare for the Amrit Bharat train
According to a railway official, the Amrit Bharat train’s second class and sleeper category fares are 15 to 17 percent more expensive than those of the other mail or fast trains now in operation. Currently, the express rail or postal ticket minimum fee for a distance of 1 to 50 km is Rs 30. Other fees, such as reservation fees, are also not included in this. This suggests that Amrit Bharat’s fare is around 17% higher.
The circular states that
free passes and concession tickets are not valid for this train. Also, it was said that railway workers would be eligible for mail or express service for privilege passes, duty passes, and PTOs (privilege Ticket Orders). Reservations for tickets will be accepted based on passes provided to MPs, MLAs, and MLCs’ Rail Travel Coupons (TRC), and reservations made by liberation fighters, who will receive full reimbursement.
There will be 22 coaches in total on Amrit Bharat,
consisting of 12 second-class sleeper coaches, 8 general class coaches for people without reservations, and 2 guard coaches. The new train will also have accommodations for travelers with disabilities. Railways claim that customers will be able to make use of first-class trains.
