But in many states including Uttar Pradesh, instead of 3 kg wheat and 2 kg rice, 5 kg rice is being distributed from June 5. Today is the last day of distribution of rations in UP. In this regard, orders have been issued by the Food and Logistics Department of the state in May itself.
The government reduced the quota of wheat
Actually, this time the Modi government has reduced the quota of wheat to be allotted from May to September under Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) due to less procurement of wheat. After this change, UP, Bihar, and Kerala did not get wheat. Wheat quota has also been reduced in Delhi, Gujarat, Jharkhand, MP, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal.

This change has been made only for PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY). According to the information given by the government, an additional allocation of about 55 lakh metric tonnes of rice has been made instead of wheat. You will be permitted to take rice through a portable challan if you are also eligible for this government program.
