The government has changed the rules of SIM. As of right now, the new regulation prohibits the business from offering a new SIM to anyone under the age of 18.
At the same time, customers above 18 years can verify themselves for their new SIM with Aadhaar or any document kept in DigiLocker.

Now users will have to pay just Re 1 for authentication through UIDAI’s Aadhaar based e-KYC service for a new mobile connection.
