Following the 8th Pay Commission, Level-4 Grade D Stenographers may get a significant pay boost. It is anticipated that the base pay will be Rs 72,930 with a fitment factor of 2.86.

For people employed by the government, particularly those holding level-4 positions like Grade D Stenographer, the future may hold good news. The recently released numbers demonstrate that these employees’ salaries may rise significantly with the adoption of the 8th Pay Commission.

How much do you now make?

A level-4 stenographer’s base pay is currently Rs 25,500 per month. They also receive other government benefits like travel allowance (TA) and dearness allowance (DA). When all of this is taken into account, their take-home pay is between Rs 35,000 and Rs 40,000. However, with the impending pay commission, it is now anticipated that this wage would rise considerably.

8th Pay Commission

The fitting factor will determine the new wage.

The fitting factor is the main justification for government employees’ pay increases. It was 2.57 in the 7th Pay Commission, which caused the minimum wage to rise from 7,000 to 18,000 dollars. Three potential fitment factors—1.92, 2.08, and 2.86—have now surfaced for the 8th Pay Commission. The minimum wage can directly rise from 18,000 to 51,480 if the government agrees 2.86.

What are the benefits for a stenographer?

The new base pay for stenographers might reach Rs 72,930 if the same ratio holds true. That is, a raise from the existing basic of roughly Rs 47,000. In addition, other benefits (DA, HRA, TA, etc.) will inevitably rise as well, further raising the in-hand pay.
