This year’s Auto Expo included the Tata Altroz Racer. This model of the Altroz hatchback is sportier and has obvious external and interior cosmetic improvements. Despite the lack of an official release date, media rumors indicate that Altroz Racer could hit stores in the first half of 2024. Tata has also begun testing this vehicle on public roads. It was most recently observed in Ooty during testing. Although ‘Racer’ is scribbled on the engine, its true design is concealed by camouflage.
Tata Altroz Racer – The 1.2L, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine
that powers the Tata Altroz Racer will be its most notable feature. This unit will have a power output of 120 horsepower and a torque of 170 Nm. This allows us to estimate the engine’s power. Its output surpasses Altroz’s iTurbo by 10bhp/30Nm. Furthermore, it will produce 2 Nm more torque than the Hyundai i20 N Line, putting it ahead in terms of torque. There might be a 6-speed manual gearbox available for the gearbox.
A brand-new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system
with modern software will be fitted to the Altroz Racer. The model will include six airbags, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, an air purifier, and a new 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster. The new all-black upholstery with contrasting red stitching is one of the most striking features of the Altroz Racer’s interior. It will have ‘Racer’ embossed in red and white stripes on the headrests, giving it a more athletic appearance.
