In India, the market leader for electric vehicles is Tata Motors. Following the introduction of the Nexon EV, Tigor EV, and Tiago EV, Tata has now introduced the electric Punch variant. Powertrain
In the Punch EV, Tata Motors offers two battery options with various motor specifications. The ARAI-rated range of the normal version is 315 km, while the Long Range (LR) version includes a 35kWh battery unit. Both versions have a 25kWh pack. A 60kW permanent magnet synchronous AC motor with a peak torque of 114 Nm powers the first one. On the other hand, the Punch EV extended range variant has a 90kW PMS AC motor that produces 190 Nm of peak torque.
In terms of performance,
the all-electric Punch’s LR version can reach 100 mph in 9.5 seconds. It can reach a maximum speed of 140 km/h. The LR version also comes with three drive modes: Eco, City, and Sport. There are four regeneration levels in each drive mode. Customers purchasing the LR version can upgrade to a 7.2kW AC charger for an extra Rs 50,000, while the normal range version only comes with a 3.3kW AC charger. It can be rapidly charged from 10% to 80% in 56 minutes with a 50kW DC fast charger.
Features
Its infotainment system is a huge 10.25-inch touchscreen. It has the new two-spoke Tata steering wheel with the lighted Tata emblem, touch-sensitive HVAC controls, and completely digital 10.25-inch instrumentation. It has additional features like a 360-degree surround-view camera, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charger, Harman audio system, LED fog lamps with cornering function, and air purifier.
