The long wait for Tata Punch EVs by the market is likely to conclude. The Indian market will receive it on December 21, 2023. Tata Motors will sell this as its fourth electric vehicle following the Nexon EV, Tigor EV, and Tiago EV. In the market, Punch EV will face competition from vehicles like the Citroen eC3 and the soon-to-be Hyundai Exter EV. This electric micro SUV is anticipated to be reasonably priced as well. Media reports state that its base form may cost between Rs. 10 and Rs. 11 lakh. The most expensive option may cost as much as Rs 12.50 lakh concurrently.
Like the Nexon EV,
the Punch EV is anticipated to be offered in two trim levels: Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR). A liquid-cooled battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor will make up the powertrain configuration. Tata’s Gen 2 EV platform (Sigma), which is essentially an updated version of the Alpha design, will serve as the foundation for the Tata Punch EV. Official information in this area is still lacking, though.
In its higher trim levels,
a long-range battery pack will be available. Additionally, it will include a few unique features, such as an electronic parking brake, armrests, LED headlights, a rear disc brake, a circular display-integrated gear selection dial, a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and an electronic parking brake. Aside from this, Punch EV’s bumper will have a charging socket. This will be the first electric vehicle from Tata with a charging outlet on the bumper. Not only that but a sunroof may be included. If this occurs, it will be the most reasonably priced sunroof-equipped electric vehicle in India.
In terms of appearance,
the Punch EV has many more electric-specific features than the gasoline-powered Punch, such as an upgraded front grille, a redesigned front bumper with a charging port, LED headlights, and newly fashioned alloy wheels.
