Team India loses the No.1 ranking in Tests despite their win in Cape Town!

Recently, Team India made history by defeating South Africa in a Tests played in Cape Town, led by skipper Rohit Sharma. Not only did the Indian squad become the first in Asia to win a Test match in Cape Town, but they also managed to draw Tests for the second time ever played in South Africa. Earlier, in 2010–11, India led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni had drawn the Test series 1–1 in South Africa. India leveled the two-match Test series 1-1 after winning the second Test match against South Africa by 7 wickets on Thursday in Cape Town.

Despite winning in Cape Town, test dominance was gone.

Not only did the Indian team make history by winning the Cape Town Test, but now they have horrible news. India’s stranglehold in the Test rankings has gone, notwithstanding the victory in Cape Town. The most recent Test rankings have been announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The Indian team dropped from first to second place in the most recent ICC Test rankings, losing a spot. Team India topped the ICC Test rankings before the Test series against South Africa.

In the first Test match held in Centurion, Team India was unable to defeat South Africa, which cost them one rating point. Following a 1-1 draw in the Test series against South Africa, Team India’s rating points dropped from 118 to 117. According to the ICC’s most recent Test rankings, the Indian side has now dropped from first to second place with 117 rating points.

In the ICC rankings, Australia comes in #1.

Australia and Pakistan are now playing their third test match in Sydney. Australia is leading this three-match Test series 2-0 and is unbeatable. Once Australia and Pakistan’s Test series concludes, the rankings will be changed once more. Australia’s rating points in the ICC rankings will rise even higher following the conclusion of this Test series. Australia presently holds the top spot in the ICC rankings, followed by India in second place, England in third place, South Africa in fourth place, and New Zealand in fifth place.
