The firm has been teasing several features and characteristics of the OnePlus 12, which is set to come soon. Now that the gadget is officially being marketed, we can actually see what it looks like. Its various colours and design elements are visible. Additionally, we found out that OnePlus moved the alert slider and disclosed the reasoning for the change.
Why is the OnePlus 12 alert slider on the right side?
OnePlus has completely abandoned the alert slider. The device’s mute switch has been shifted to the right side, albeit with less severe movements this time.
According to Android Authority, the company states that internal testing has revealed that, when the handset is held in landscape position, the gaming antennae should ideally be between the user’s forefingers. Since the alert slider is now located here, it chose to relocate the slider to the opposite side.
To allow for improved gaming antennae, the OnePlus 12’s alert slider is located on the right side. These are said to be ultra-compact full-band antennas with a 15% decrease in gaming delay and a 3dB improvement in signal strength.
The hues and design of the OnePlus 12
According to the official Weibo posts, the OnePlus 12 will come in three colour options: black, white, and green. This particular green is being referred to as “Flowy Emerald” (machine translated). It appears to be nature-inspired.
Speaking of nature, one of the most recent leaks revealed the OnePlus 12’s hardwood back. It hasn’t been formally confirmed yet, though.
The rear is made of glass, and the company logo is smaller than the massive camera island. A 3x periscope zoom lens and a “4th-gen Hasselblad Camera for Mobile” make up the camera island.
The back is somewhat curved, while the front is flatter. Narrow bezels and a centre punch-hole cutout are seen upfront.

It will go on sale on December 5th, the day following OnePlus’s celebration of its tenth anniversary. Alongside it is anticipated to make its debut the OnePlus 12R.
