The Indian government took major decision for online gaming, new rules soon

Online gaming is contributing to an ongoing rise in online fraud instances. Wherein the Indian government made a significant decision about online gaming. The nodal ministry for this has been designated by the government.

Designated as the nodal ministry for multisport e-sports competitions. In other words, e-sports will be incorporated into the primary games. President Draupadi Murmu exercised his authority under Clause (3) of Article 77 to bring the rule within its purview.

The gamers will greatly gain from this. The government will create new regulations for e-sports, preventing fraud. The winning medals from e-sports will be legitimately recognized. E-sports will now be covered in the curriculum. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the minister of state for information technology, tweeted that Meity would shortly provide guidelines for online gambling intermediaries.

The Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports (FIFS) applauds the government’s decision. To designate the IT ministry as the nodal ministry to oversee the regulation of the online gaming industry. Stating that the appointment of MeitY as the central regulatory authority will benefit consumers and investors.
