Due to the steadily rising demand for electric SUVs, automakers have recently begun concentrating on producing them. Additionally, the government is promoting electric vehicles in several ways. As a result, the market for electric vehicles in India is expanding rapidly. In the upcoming year, 2024, a lot of electric SUVs are planned for release.
Mahindra XUV.e8
Based on the XUV.e8 concept, Mahindra has confirmed that its first-born electric SUV will go on sale by December 2024. It is being constructed on the recently developed electric INGLO skateboard architecture, which accommodates a wide range of wheelbases, powerplants, track widths, and AWD and RWD configurations. A sizable battery pack built on the blade and prismatic two-cell architectures will be included with the electric SUV. There will be RWD and AWD options for the SUV. The power output of its engine ranges from 230 to 350 horsepower.
The Tata Punch EV
Next year (2024), Tata Motors will introduce three new electric SUVs to the nation. The Tata Punch EV will be the first model to go on sale. In 2024, the Tata Punch EV is scheduled to launch in the first quarter. The GEN 2 platform, which is essentially an updated ALFA modular platform, will serve as the foundation for the new model. It might be using the same electric motor and battery pack as Tig and Tigor EV.
SUZUKI MARUTI eVX
In late 2024, Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce the eVX electric SUV into national production. At Suzuki’s Gujarati manufacturing facility, the SUV will be produced locally. It will be exported to other worldwide countries, including Europe, in addition to being sold in India. The all-new skateboard platform will serve as the foundation for the electric SUV. Approximately 500 kilometers can be covered by a single full charge. It should receive a 60 kWh battery pack. It will go up against the MG ZS EV, the Mahindra XUV400, and the soon-to-be Hyundai Creta EV.
