Karnataka government employees who have been expecting a DA raise for a long time have now received some comfort from the government. A 3.75 percent rise in dearness allowance has been announced by the government. Following the government’s directive, the state’s employee debt to GDP ratio rose to 38.75 percent. Previously, the employees’ DA was 35 percent. For judicial officers and lecturers on the UGC/AICTE/ICAR scale, the government has announced a 4% rise in DA.
An additional 1,109 crore in debt
The state government will bear an extra expense of Rs 1,109 crore following the announcement of the DA hike. The previous BJP government had discussed a temporary basic wage hike of up to 17% following protests by employee unions in March. Subsequently, the government declared the establishment of a committee to examine the potential reinstatement of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). Allow us to inform you that federal employees nationwide are calling for the reinstatement of the previous pension plan.
The UP government raised DA of employees as well
In the non-BJP-ruled states of Punjab, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, the previous pension program is still in place. The government raised the DA/DR of retirees and central employees by 4% last week. Along with this, the government promised a 78-day incentive for railway workers. Following this, the UP government also gave its employees a 4% rise in DA. Prior to Diwali, the government intends to provide the October wage and the enhanced DA amount to the arrears.
