Sport utility vehicles (SUV) are in more demand than ever before, and this trend is anticipated to continue. Because of the sudden spike in demand, automakers are preparing to release more SUVs in a variety of pricing ranges. This year alone, almost a dozen new SUVs are anticipated to be introduced, the majority of which will fit into the sub-4 meter category.
Buyers of entry-level and luxury hatchbacks are now gravitating towards
the small or mini SUV market. Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Tata Punch, and Hyundai Exter are the three well-performing compact SUVs in the nation. But during July, Franks took the lead out of these three. Maruti Suzuki’s Frons, which dethroned Tata Punch, which had dominated the market since it began, in July 2023.
Tata Punch SUV has sold a total of
12,019 Franks, while Indo-Japanese carmaker Maruti Suzuki has sold 13,220 units. Hyundai’s recently released Exter sold 7,000 copies in the same period, moving it up to third place overall. 32,239 units of the mini SUV were sold overall in July 2023.

- 13,220 Maruti Fronx units were sold.
- 12,019 Tata Punch units were sold.
- 7,000 Hyundai Exter vehicles were sold.
Maruti Fronx, which was introduced in April, is offered in 13 models
with prices ranging from Rs 7.47 Lakh to Rs 13.14 Lakh. Both a 1.0L Boosterjet turbo and a 1.2L normally aspirated petrol engine are available for this little crossover. The first engine produces 147Nm of torque and 100 horsepower, while the second engine produces 90 horsepower. Options for gearboxes include manual and AMT. There is also a CNG fuel option for the Froxin.
