Toll Plaza 10-second rule says there won’t be any toll fees to pay !!

Toll Plaza

A policy stating that “service time per vehicle at every toll plaza in India should not exceed 10 seconds” was released by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in May 2021. Even at busy times, when the toll plaza is busier, there shouldn’t be a service delay longer than 10 seconds.

Service time refers to the period of time a vehicle is permitted to pass through a toll plaza after the toll fee has been collected. Its goal was to shorten the time that cars had to wait at the toll plaza.

The new rules also stated that there should not be a queue of vehicles at the toll plaza that is more than 100 metres long.

What guidelines apply?

Significantly, the number of times people have to wait at the toll plaza decreased when Fastag was implemented. However, NHAI had stated, “Vehicles will be allowed to pass without paying toll until the queue reaches within 100 metres of the toll booth if there is a queue of more than 100 metres for whatever reason.”

The government has previously adopted FASTag, which was put in place to ensure that there is no corruption at toll booths, vehicles pass quickly, and traffic moves on without pausing for very long.
