Users are now looking for phones that offer flagship-like performance within a mid-range budget. However, several companies have launched smartphones that are priced far above their actual value. Let’s explore which smartphones are considered overpriced and which are the cheaper, yet better, alternatives.
iPhone 16 Plus:
Apple’s iPhone 16 Plus comes at a price of ₹89,900, but its features don’t seem to justify the price. Even in 2025, it only has a 60Hz display and lacks a telephoto camera. Additionally, charging speeds are slower than most Android phones. This is why people are preferring models like the iPhone 15 Pro, which are available at cheaper prices through offers.
Better options:
The iPhone 15 Pro, which features a 120Hz ProMotion display and a more powerful camera, can be purchased for around Rs 89,000. The iPhone 16, which comes with a new chipset and better handling, is also available for around Rs 79,900. The Samsung Galaxy S25 (Rs 76,999) is also a smart choice at this price, with a brighter LTPO display and faster charging.

Samsung’s new Galaxy S25 Ultra launched at ₹129,999, but it’s not much different from its predecessor, the S24 Ultra. The design is bulky and thick, and the upgrades are minimal. On the other hand, several companies are offering better performance below this price range.
Better options:
The iQOO 13 Pro offers a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and a 144Hz display for Rs 79,999. The OnePlus 13 comes with a great camera and fast charging for Rs 69,999. The Google Pixel 9 Pro offers excellent photography and advanced AI features for Rs 94,999.

Priced at ₹79,999, the Pixel 9 suffers from overheating issues due to its Tensor chips. Battery life is also average, and its camera results are now comparable to those offered by many cheaper phones.
The Pixel 8a offers roughly 80% of the Pixel 9 experience for Rs 52,000. The Samsung Galaxy S25 offers a better display and battery for Rs 76,999. The iQOO 12 offers flagship-like speed and performance for Rs 52,999.
Nothing Phone 3:
Priced at ₹79,999, the Nothing Phone 3 is known for its design but disappoints when it comes to performance. The cameras are average, and the software needs further improvement.
