Ten models worldwide, including six Japanese ones, are powered by these engines. “The irregularities pertain to engine power and torque but no exaggerated claims have been made in terms of horsepower, torque, or other engine-related parameters,” a Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) official stated when contacted.
Additionally,
the business spokesman stated in the statement that neither the safety nor the emissions of the impacted vehicles are impacted by this problem. “Toyota is working with the relevant authorities to re-verify the data used in the certification of the affected vehicles,” stated TKM. TKM will temporarily halt the supply of the impacted vehicles in such a scenario.
TKM will be accepting
new orders for all three models in the interim. Customers will be notified about the status of automobiles that have been sent to dealers but have not yet been delivered to them, according to the business. “We would like to convey to our existing customers that these irregularities do not affect their vehicles as there is no change,” TKM stated. in horsepower, torque, or other engine-related aspects.
