As 2022 came to an end, Uber published its annual report, “How India Ubered in 2022,” which examined the journeys passengers took. The research states that Delhi-NCR has the most Uber trips booked. Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Kolkata came after it.
Delhi was also found to have the most trips made during business hours. The report noted that although Delhi-NCR had the most journeys overall, it also had the most trips during business hours, which “goes to illustrate how Delhiites and their close neighbours in Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad decided to make their way back to work from the office.”
According to the estimate, Uber rides in India travelled 4.5 billion kilometres overall in 2022. The distance from Earth to Neptune, the last planet in the solar system after Pluto was expelled, was covered by up to 4.5 billion kilometres during the course of the year, according to the corporation.
Uber Go was the most widely used product in terms of journeys, and Uber Auto was a close second. According to the report, Indians drove for approximately 11 billion minutes each year. The most common time to book a ride was between 5 and 6 o’clock, while Saturday turned out to be the most popular day of the week.
This year, Uber started operating in a number of additional locations, making it the first ride-hailing service in the nation to have a presence in all seven of the Northeast’s sister states.
