Rules for Traffic Challans: Failure to pay the traffic e-challan may result in the cancellation of a driver’s license. Owners of vehicles have three months to pay the traffic e-challan.
Rules Regarding Traffic Challans:
The Indian government may soon implement new regulations for those who fail to pay traffic challans. This rule states that individuals who fail to get their e-challan cleared will have their driving license (DL) revoked, making them ineligible to operate a motor vehicle. These regulations are being developed to promote adherence to the law and boost the recovery of traffic penalties.

The new draft rule states
that failure to pay the traffic e-challan may result in the cancellation of a driver’s license. Vehicle owners risk having their license revoked if they don’t pay the traffic e-challan within three months.
Drivers risk having their licenses suspended for a minimum of three months if they receive three challans for reckless driving or jumping red lights in a fiscal year. Linking insurance premiums to traffic e-challans is another topic covered in the plan. A driver may be required to pay a higher insurance rate if he has two or more outstanding challans from the preceding fiscal year.
How much-issued e-challans are recovered?
Just 40% of all e-challans issued are recovered, the research claims. The lowest recovery rate is 14% in Delhi, 21% in Karnataka, and 27% in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, respectively. With recovery rates ranging from 62 to 76%, Maharashtra and Haryana have the highest rates.
