The citizens of India were optimistic about their expectations for the General Budget 2023-24. Following the announcement of the Budget by Financial Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, satisfaction is evident among the population. In addition to the announcement on income tax as well as an announcement about the largest budget ever for Railways has delighted the masses greatly. Time will tell how the image of Railways will change following the distribution of the funds. Along with the budget announcement the the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has made big statements about the plans for the future of the Railways.

Ashwini Vaishnav acknowledged prime minister Narendra Modi for the budget. He said this year there was an unprecedented allocation of funds to the Railways. When discussing the period of the BJP since its election at the Center to date, he stated that lots of work has been completed on the Railways over the past eight years. There were issues with infrastructure. A significant amount of work was carried out over the course of eight years. The money provided by the government in its budget plan will assist in further improving the infrastructure. 1275 stations of railways will be built in a short time as part of the Amrit Bharat station program.
Following this, in answer to questions about Vande Bharat Express trains.
He said that the production of trains like these will increase quickly. Popularity for the Vande Bharat Express has risen quickly in the nation. He added it is because Vande Bharat Express is being debated all over the world. Concerning the manufacturing of Vande Bharat Express trains, the minister said that until the present, its production was carried out only at ICF Chennai. In the wake of today’s budget, the trains will be manufactured by Sonipat, Latur, and Rae Bareli as well. Vande Bharat will be produced in four locations and will increase in production speed rapidly.
Ashwini Vaishnav said that Vande Metro is being planned to serve regional areas. By the end of the year, the full plan for Vande Metro trains will be created. He also said that hydrogen trains are being built in line with green growth. The work should also complete by the end of December 2023. It is unique that hydrogen trains are developed and manufactured in India too. There are only three countries around the globe that have hydrogen trains. India is the fourth.
The reason why Financial Minister Nirmala Sitharaman
has allocated Rs 2.40 lakh crore to the Railways which is nine times higher than the 2013-14 budget. In the budget address the Finance Minister announced that a capital expenditure of approximately 2.40 lakh crore was allocated to the Railways It is the biggest ever investment that is almost nine times the amount spent in the 2013-14 financial year. This is the biggest ever amount of money given of funds to Railways. The current Rail Budget is expected to concentrate on finishing projects that are not completed as well as also on the improvement of infrastructure. The main focus will be getting high-speed trains operational in the near future.
