Gandhinagar Mumbai Vande Bharat Train: India’s first indigenously developed Vande Bharat train will run between Gandhinagar and Mumbai. Earlier the trial run of Vande Bharat Express has been successfully done. The train is equipped with ‘Kavach’ technology (Train Collision Avoidance System), an automatic safety system that prevents two trains from colliding. It is important to mention here that this technology has been developed in India itself and has been made at a lower cost than the imported train coming from abroad.

Railway Minister himself did a successful test

The central government in its budget 2022 has announced to include a 2000 km rail network under ‘Kavach’ technology. It was successfully tested by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav himself and its cost is 50 percent less than imported trains. Thus this train has fulfilled the Prime Minister’s commitment towards Make in India products.

Coaches with Control Management System

The indigenously developed semi-high speed train will accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 52 seconds. Slider steps, touch-free sliding doors, and automatic plug doors are all standard on trains. The Coach Control Management System will control the temperature, the train will be controlled by the control room and maintenance staff apart from using GSM and GPRS technology for communication and response.

Toilet design will also be special in this train

The train has “special toilets for the disabled”. Touch-free bio-vacuum toilets have been installed for other passengers, similarly, seat numbers for blind passengers have been designed in Braille, the train has Level-II Safety Integration Certification, a rear-view camera, and 4 platform side cameras, which are aspirating.
