The Hero Xpulse 200 4V is the most affordable entry-level adventure tourer in India and is surprisingly capable of its relatively small engine displacement. The company is now gearing up to launch a more off-road-oriented version of the adventure bike that will be more capable of taking off the beaten roads.
The existing Rally kit was designed for Hero Xpulse 200 2V but the upcoming Rally kit and Rally Edition will be based on Xpulse 200 4V
Called the Rally Edition, this new variant of the XPulse 200 4V was unveiled today. Earlier, a type approval document filed by Hero MotoCorp for registration with the transport department of NCT New Delhi was leaked online. The certificate mentions a new Rally variant as well as the regular model.
2022 Hero XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition
This suggests that the world’s largest two-wheeler maker is not only developing a new rally variant but also an updated rally kit for the existing Xpulse customers. Hero already sells a rally kit for the Xpulse 200 2V at a price of Rs 38,000. However, the new rally kit is expected to be more advanced than the existing one and will include the components added in the upcoming XPulse rally variant.
The document further reveals the dimensions of the Xpulse 200 4V along with the rally kit and the new rally variant of the adventure tourer. As per the certificate, the length, width, and height of the bike with the rally kit will be 2243 mm, 850 mm, and 1308 mm respectively. On the other hand, the Rally variant is bigger with length, width, and height of 2255 mm, 850 mm, and 1320 mm respectively.
The wheelbase of the rally kit has been increased to 1419 mm while the rally variant will get an even bigger wheelbase at 1427 mm. The increased dimensions can be a result of increased suspension travel at both ends. The Standard XPulse 200 has a gross weight of 288 kg. The rally kit version has a GVW of 289kg while the rally version has a GVW of 290kg. Both iterations will be based on the Xpulse 200 4V.
We expect the ground clearance as well as seat height of both the Rally Kit and the Rally variant to be higher than the regular model. The XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition will feature longer travel suspension, a raised handlebar, wire-spoked wheels with knobby dual-purpose tires, and a tall side-stand to compensate for the extra height.
Expected Powertrain Specs and Price
No updates are expected on the powertrain. The current Xpulse 200 4V is powered by a 199.6cc single-cylinder, air-cooled that makes 19 bhp and 17.35 Nm of peak torque. This unit is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The upcoming Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition may also get a new LED headlight which was introduced in Turkey a few months back.

Currently, the Xpulse 200 4V is priced at Rs 1.32 lakh and we expect the new rally kit to cost around Rs 50,000. Thus, the new Rally variant of the Xpulse 200 4V could be priced around Rs 1.80 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). More details are expected to emerge soon.
