Aadhar card are now the most common form of identity documentation. Every government and private work is becoming more and more dependent on having an Aadhaar card.

However, a difficulty emerges when you move to a new location and are missing the address proof for that location. In order to address this issue, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has now enacted new regulations known as the Adhar Card Address Change Rules.

Due to this modification, you will now be allowed to modify the address on your Aadhaar card even without giving address verification.

Approval from the family’s head

You must obtain the head of the family’s (HoF) consent in order to alter the address on your Aadhaar card, under the new UIDAI regulations (Aadhar Card Address Change Rules). If the head of the family receives approval for the new address from his or her spouse, children, and parents, the Aadhaar address will be changed. The unique feature is that any adult above the age of 18 is eligible to serve as the family’s Head of Family (HOF). After this adjustment, according to the government, people won’t need to scurry around to alter their address and can easily update their Aadhaar card.

Change of Address for Aadhar Cards

  • You must first go to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in, the Aadhaar website.
  • You will notice the option to update your Aadhaar address when you first access the website.
  • You must then provide the Aadhaar number of the person who is in charge of your household.
  • The Aadhaar number of the HOF will then be verified on the website. You will next be requested to present a document as verification of your relationship.
  • Your HOF validation will be completed once you have submitted this proof. You will then need to pay the service fee of Rs. 50 online.

  • Following this payment, you will receive a service request number on your mobile device, which you must enter on the website. The HOF will then have to ask for its address.
  • The HOF will indicate its approval by writing OK when it receives the message that this request has been received. He will be given 30 days for this. After receiving this authorization, the address will be updated in Aadhaar within 15 days.
  • It should be mentioned that the address change in Aadhaar will not be feasible if the head of the family, or HOF, refuses the request.
