Ather has introduced the Rizta, a new electric scooter. It now costs Rs 1.45 lakh instead of Rs 1.10 lakh. Nevertheless, despite being in this price range, the scooter’s quality has been compromised in some areas. The screen’s finishing is subpar as compared to Ather 450. It appears that the fitting was completed quickly. The switchgear and buttons on the handlebar look to be of lower quality than on other Ather scooters. This plastic finish appears to be adequate as well.
Range and battery
Due to its larger and wider seat and increased storage, this scooter is marketed as a family ride. The Ather family scooter, which is new, utilizes the same technology structure and some design elements apart from the battery pack with the company’s 450 range scooters. It has a mid-drive motor, but its power is less than the 450 range scooter. ‘Wrap’ ride mode is also not available in Rizzta. It is offered with two battery options – 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh, which can deliver 123 km and 160 km range (IDC certified) respectively.
Battle and further matters
The closest rivals of Ather’s new family scooter are TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak Premium. The battery capacities of these two scooters are 2.88 kWh and 3.04 kWh, respectively. Front telescopic suspension and rear mono-shock suspension are features of the new Ather Rizta.
There are drum brakes in the back and disc brakes up front for stopping.
With 34 liters of underseat storage, this electric scooter offers a greater range than the Ather 450. In addition, a 22-liter trunk has been supplied. This scooter’s operating depth in water is 400 mm, according to the manufacturer.
