The waiting to receive the 13th installment from PM Kisan Samman Nidhi’s pension is now about to come to an end. The government is set to transfer the installment to the farmers’ account via DBT on the 24th of February. Before the money to pay this installment the Agriculture Minister of Union Narendra Singh Tomar released this information, knowing that farmers’ brothers will be content. Agriculture Minister Tomar declared that the horticulture industry is thought to boost the growth of the economy. The sector is rapidly becoming an organized field that includes the trading of seeds, value-adding, and export.
The nation’s horticulture production is higher than the production of food grains
At the all-day National Horticulture Fair held in Bengaluru, Tomar said that the horticulture industry plays a crucial role in doubling the income of farmers and ensuring essential nutrition security. Tomar stated, “The rapid increase in the production and availability of horticulture-related crops will aid in closing the gap in the nutritional security of the nation.” According to a statement from the government, he stated that the nation’s horticulture production has grown 13 times over the period by a factor of 13 from the 25 million tonnes produced in 1950-51 to 331 million tonnes in 2020-21. This is higher than the production of food grains.
A sum in the amount of 2200 Crores was allocated.
He said that this sector is thought to boost economic growth, and it is slowly becoming an organized business that involves seeds trading, value-addition as well as export.’ The minister stated it was in his budget plan for the fiscal period 2023-24, 2,200 crores was allotted for the growth of the horticulture business. We can assure you that ongoing efforts are being undertaken by the Central Government to double the amount of income that farmers earn. In this regard, the government has initiated numerous schemes to help farmers.
