These services include services like registration of vehicles and learning licenses.

“As part of an effort to decongest the regional transport offices, we have decided to make services ranging from vehicle registration to apprentice license and permit available online,” Chakraborty said. The work can be done from home and these steps will help both the common people and those engaged in the transport business.

He said that for services like change of ownership of vehicles (post-purchase) the seller and buyer will also not need to come to the Regional Transport Offices, both of them will interact in the virtual mode so that they can come here. his office. The need will be gone. Chakraborty said that these online services will be available in about a month.

Snehasish Chakraborty said that the plan to make the state transport undertaking eco-friendly by 2030 will get a boost with the addition of 1180 electric buses in the near future. “The state has already signed an agreement with Tata Motors for 1,180 electric buses, which will start coming soon,” he said. The minister said that electricity charging points and CNG stations will be set up in the state to reduce vehicular pollution.
