  • The original Rs. 500 note is 66 mm by 150 mm in size.
  • In the centre will be a photograph of Mahatma Gandhi.
  • The Devanagari script will be used to write the denomination 500.
  • India and “Bharat” will be inscribed in tiny letters.
  • 500 will be recorded as the denomination digit.
  • When the white area on the front of the note is illuminated, an image of 500 will be discernible.
  • A comic strip with the words “India” and “RBI” will appear. When the note is tilted, the strip’s colour shifts from green to blue.
  • The promise and guarantee clauses, the governor’s signature, and the RBI insignia are all located to the right of Mahatma Gandhi’s image.
  • Mahatma Gandhi’s photo and electrotype (500) will be watermarked.
  • The top left and bottom right of the screen will each have a number panel with ascending-font numerals.
  • On the bottom right of the denomination is a rupee symbol (500) in colour-changing ink that changes from green to blue.
  • The Ashoka Pillar emblem will be located on the right side.

  • On the left side will be the note’s printing year.
  • The slogan will include the Swachh Bharat logo.
  • A panel on languages will be present.
  • The theme will be Red Fort.
  • The number 500 will be spelt out in Devanagari.
