When the Aadhaar card is issued by UIDAI for children, its color is blue. The blue-colored Aadhar card is also known as ‘Bal Aadhar’. According to the UIDAI, the Aadhar card of the newborn child is generated through the birth discharge certificate and the Aadhar card of the parents.
About the blue aadhar card
The blue 12-digit base is designed for children 5 years of age or younger. It becomes invalid after 5 years, it has to be updated again.
According to the rules, the Aadhaar of a newborn child can be used till the age of 5 years. Updates have to be done after 5 years. It becomes inactive if there is no update. After 5 years, when the child turns 15, then the biometric update has to be done.
According to the UIDAI, after the child turns 5 years old, you will have to visit the nearest Aadhaar center to get his biometric updated. The fingerprint of the newborn is not taken. But when the child turns 5 years old, the Aadhaar will have to be updated.
Procedure to get Blue Aadhar Card
Take your child with you to the enrollment center. There fill out the form for enrollment and submit it. As a document, the guardian will have to give his Aadhar card. You will be asked to provide a phone number under which the blue Aadhaar card will be issued. Biometric information is not required in blue Aadhaar, only one photo will be clicked. A message will come once the document is verified. Blue Aadhar card will be issued to your child within 60 days of verification.
Aadhar update process after 5 years
This mandatory biometric update for children is absolutely free. No charge will be taken for this. Let us know, how you can get your child’s Aadhaar made or updated. For this, once you have to go to your nearest Aadhaar center.
Book at Aadhaar Center To book an appointment, you need to visit the UIDAI website https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/easearch.aspx. Click here to book an appointment. After that fill in the location details and click on Proceed to book an appointment.
After verifying all the details click on submit to book the appointment. After this, you have to go to the Aadhaar Enrollment Center with all the original documents.
It is worth noting that there is no need to fulfill any criteria for getting an Aadhar card for newborns. children below 5 years of age. It will also not require biometric data. The processing and authentication of Aadhaar will be done on the basis of parents. The Aadhaar verification of the child will be done from the demographics and photograph of the parents only.
