BSNL 5G: Following the telecom firms’ raise in tariffs last month, BSNL has been in the news. In actuality, tariff prices have climbed by almost 25% for all private telecom providers. However, BSNL is still providing plans at the previous prices. As a result, BSNL is seeing a sharp rise in its user base.
Meanwhile,
a video that went viral on Monday was shared from the Department of Telecommunications’ official X handle under the Government of India. Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Union Minister, is seen in the video conversing with someone via video call. This video call is unique since the Union Minister is using BSNL 5G network to assist with his speech. The description for the video states, “BSNL 5G enabled testing was successful.”
These cities would be the first to get BSNL 5G services.
Initial BSNL 5G service rollout locations include Connaught Place in Delhi, Bengaluru; inside government offices and campuses in Bengaluru; Sanchar Bhavan and surrounding JNU campus in the national capital; IIT Delhi; parts of Chennai, India Habitat Center; or parts of Gurgaon, IIT Hyderabad campus, among other places, according to media reports.
MTNL failed to make loan payments.
MTNL, a different public telecom operator, has fallen behind on its bank loan repayment by Rs 422.05 crore. On Monday, the business reported to the stock market that there was a total default of Rs 328.75 crore towards repaying the principal amount and that there was an outstanding payment of Rs 93.3 crore towards interest. MTNL is behind on its payments for Rs 155.76 crore taken from Union Bank of India, Rs 140.37 crore taken from State Bank of India, Rs 40.33 crore taken from Bank of India, Rs 40.01 crore taken from Punjab & Sind Bank, Rs 41.54 crore taken from Punjab National Bank and Rs 4.04 crore taken from UCO Bank.
