PM Modi requested advice- By visiting the www.mygov.in website, you can submit your list of requests for the Modi government regarding the budget if you also want to make any suggestions to them over the budget. The general public was asked for budgetary proposals between November 24 and December 10, 2022. As a result, even the Prime Minister is now requesting recommendations.
The tenth full budget of the Modi government!
On February 1, 2023, Nirmala Sitharaman will deliver the fifth and last full budget of Modi’s second term; hence, this budget, after 2014, would be the tenth full budget of the Modi administration. For the fifth time running, Nirmala Sitharaman will also present the budget. This is the last full budget before the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, and it will be difficult for the Modi administration to win over everyone with it. The series of eight pre-budget meetings that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had with various stakeholders ended on Monday, November 28, 2022. The Finance Minister has also separately met with the state finance ministers ahead of the budget to hear their requests.
Budget Expectations!
On the one hand, inflation worries the general public. Food and drink are now more pricey than EMI. Inflation has risen faster than income, but not at the same rate. Additionally, the likelihood of a recession in America and Europe has presented the administration with a fresh dilemma in addition to the global economic crisis. The challenge will be to protect the economy against global shocks in addition to providing relief from inflation to the average person through the budget.
Rationalization of tax laws was requested during the pre-budget meeting with the finance minister, along with a reduction in income tax. After Corona, the employment issue got worse. Therefore, the government has been urged to implement an employment guarantee program similar to MNREGA in urban areas to increase employment opportunities. There have been suggestions ranging from raising spending on infrastructure improvement to raising spending on the social sector. Additionally, there has been a call to increase the budgetary allotment for health and education.
