In the country’s northern regions, a bitter cold wave has begun. Many cities have experienced a sharp drop in temperature. The cold is having an impact in the plains as a result of the snowfall on the mountains.
In numerous areas, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, people’s troubles have gotten worse due to the cold and fog. In a few southern states, rain is also anticipated. The Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that a cold wave will strike regions of Punjab, northern Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh. The effects of cold can make people’s issues worse.
Colder than usual in Delhi
Delhi, the nation’s capital, is experiencing an escalating chill. The fog has also begun to have an impact on this. Delhi is anticipated to see a minimum temperature of 6 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius on Monday, December 19.
On Monday, there could be some mild fog, the Meteorological Department has said. Despite all of this, the pollution condition in the capital city is still concerning. The AQI for Delhi was 353 as of 4 p.m. on Sunday.
The chilly wave will cause more problems.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that various areas of Punjab, including Punjab, North Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh, will experience the effects of the cold wave. Additionally, there is fog in several areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Lucknow is predicted to see a minimum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius.
In addition to this, many other North Indian states, notably Punjab, have seen a rise in problems caused by fog. On the roadways, the speed of the moving vehicles also slowed down. Tremors will become more frequent in various districts, including Begusarai, Chapra, and Katihar in Bihar, from December 25.
Rajsthan will become increasingly frigid
In some areas of Rajasthan, the tremor has grown. The Meteorological Department predicts that the temperature will likely drop even more over the next few days. Between December 23 and December 29, there is a chance that several areas of the state could experience further drops in minimum temperatures. The Jaipur Meteorological Center predicts that starting on Monday, the temperature will continue to drop (December 19). Due to the drop in the lowest temperature in most regions through December 22, it is anticipated that the cold will get much worse. The impact of the fog will also be felt at the same moment.
Mumbai is still quite hot.
In the majority of the states in the union, the temperature has decreased. Mumbai residents, however, are still experiencing extreme heat in December. Even in December, Mumbai residents are having issues because of the high temperatures. On Monday, Mumbai is expected to have a high temperature of 35 degrees and a low temperature of 24 degrees (December 19). Prior to that, Mumbai was the hottest city in India on Friday and Saturday. The next few days may see more of the same weather.
Where does rain fall?
In the southern regions of the nation, there is still a probability of rain. The Meteorological Department warns that coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands may see heavy rain. Meanwhile, some locations may get light to moderate rain.
In some areas of South Andhra Pradesh, light rain is also anticipated over the next 24 hours. On December 21, light to moderate rain is possible in a few locations in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. In certain areas, there may be a chance of thunder and light rain.
