Delhi Liquor Policy: Liquor shops are going to open in the capital of Delhi under the old liquor policy. Not a single private shop in the capital will open in Delhi after August 31. In light of this, the government has stepped up its efforts to open liquor stores under the previous alcohol legislation. The government-appointed committee turned in its report to the government on Thursday. According to this story, 500 government stores will operate on September 1.
The collaboration of four governmental corporations
All the four corporations of the government will do this work together. Due to the lack of alcohol and concern for law and order, the decision to create liquor stores has been made. By the end of this month, these stores would be established by Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC), Delhi State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), and Delhi Consumer Cooperative Wholesale Stores (DCCWS), and Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation (DSCSC).
200 more shops will open till 31st December
The committee’s report states that 200 additional liquor stores will operate by December 31. This means that a total of 700 liquor stores will open this year. In these shops, all corporations will also start 5 premium shops to sell expensive and branded liquor. Two businesses will open this month. Up until December 31, the remaining shops will be open.
Four corporations will run shops in these zones
DTTDC will operate its shops in Zones 1-9, DSIIDC 10-18, DCCWS 19-24, and DSCSC 25-30. Only DTTDC will open liquor stores at the airport in addition to this. At the same time, DSIIDC will handle shops in Delhi Cantonment and areas under New Delhi Municipal Council.
Liquor shops will open like this
According to the study, DCCWS and DSCSC will open 100–100 stores during this time, while DTTDC and DSIIDC will open 150–150 liquor stores by the end of this month. Till December, DTTDC and DSIIDC will open 60-60 liquor shops, while DCCWS and DSCSC will open 40-40 shops. Explain that the Delhi government had left the retail business of liquor after implementing the Excise Policy 2021-22 on 17 November 2021.
