Following e-verification, the department will then investigate your return. This includes doing a tax arrears check. A message confirming the procedure and Income Tax Refund amount will be sent to taxpayers.
Ways to Verify the Status of Income Tax Refund?
- Firstly, visit incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal, the Income Tax Department’s e-filing website. You’ll need the details from your Aadhaar and PAN cards to get there. Additionally, your registered mobile number will receive a one-time password (OTP), so be sure to safeguard it.
- To log in to the website, enter your PAN number, OTP, and captcha code.
- Select the “e-file” option after logging in.
- Select the “View Filed Return” option after selecting the “Income Tax Return” tab.
- From this page, you can monitor the progress of your most recent income tax return submission.
- Lastly, you can also verify the current state of your income tax refund through the same process.
