Managing Director Vikas Kumar said that for passengers, payments can be made through National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) in e-autos. With its implementation, passengers will get a chance to use all transport facilities including metro, auto, and bus with a single card.
Office or home, it is now very easy to reach from metro stations Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has taken the first step to provide a last-mile access facility. An e-auto facility will be started for the convenience of metro passengers. This will neither worry about vehicular pollution nor will there be a delay in reaching the destination.
In the first phase, 50 e-auto services will be started from Sector-9 metro station of Dwarka by August. Around 160 e-autos will be run from metro stations located in different sectors of Dwarka. In the next four months, a total of 663 e-autos will be available to the passengers from the rest of the metro stations in Delhi.
The electric feeder bus service on the Delhi Metro side was started last year. Buses started plying on the prescribed route, but passengers could not find suitable transport options to reach the last mile. DMRC has decided to run e-autos for the convenience of the passengers and for the loss due to less passenger capacity in feeder buses. Steps have been taken in this direction after the agreement between the Transport Department of the Delhi Government and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The e-auto will be operated in collaboration with a private agency. DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar said that 50 e-autos will start operating from Sector-9 metro station in Dwarka. After this, in a phased manner, there will be 663 e-autos for the convenience of passengers from metro stations of Delhi including other sectors of Dwarka.
Fare of e-auto could not be decided
In order to facilitate the travel of e-autos to the passengers, all the aspects including the fare are being discussed. At present, e-rickshaws are mostly used as a last-mile facility. 10, 15 and 20 rupees are being charged per passenger from metro stations to the destination. When will the e-auto service start, it will be able to book only one passenger for one passenger or this facility will be available even after sharing, it has not been decided. However, this will be decided in collaboration with the auto operating agency so that maximum convenience can be given to the passengers.
You will be able to pay rent from NCMC
Managing Director Vikas Kumar said that for passengers, payments can be made through National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) in e-autos. With its implementation, passengers will get a chance to use all transport facilities including metro, auto, and bus with a single card. For this, the facilities will be integrated so that passengers can get the maximum opportunity for cashless transactions in the to and fro fare lanes. NCMC facility will also be implemented on all lines of Delhi Metro by next year.
Metro service will start at the convention center in August
Metro service to India International Convention Center (IICC) located in Dwarka Sector-24 is expected to start in August. DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar said that the airport express line of the metro is being expanded within a radius of about two kilometers. With the commencement of the Metro service between Sector 21 to IICC, the facilities available at the Convention Center will be available to the passengers. The trial is currently going on for this. The date of metro operation will be decided after the inspection of the Commissioner of Railway Safety.
