Due to the melting snow, the areas of Delhi NCR are once again experiencing a chilly wave. 1.4 degrees Celsius, which is six notches below average, was the season’s lowest temperature on Monday at Delhi’s Safdarjung observatory. In the national capital Delhi over the past ten years, this is the month’s second-lowest minimum temperature. Safdarjung last reported a low temperature of 1.1 degrees Celsius in January 2021. The Delhi NCR region is expected to see a severe cold wave, according to the Meteorological Department (IMD). IMD in Delhi has issued a “Yellow Alert” for the upcoming six days.
The mercury can hit one degree Celsius
and the cold wave will last for the next two days, according to the Meteorological Department. The wind speed is predicted to be between 10 and 14 kilometers per hour on Tuesday, when the minimum temperature may drop even lower, to one degree Celsius. Due to the cold wave, the meteorological department has issued a yellow notice for the following two days. The Meteorological Department has warned that, in addition to the Delhi NCR, other states, such as Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, may experience extreme cold wave conditions through January 18.
The Western Disturbance will resume its activity.
Mahesh Palawat, a senior meteorologist with Skymet Weather, predicted that Tuesday’s low might be just one degree Celsius. The Meteorological Department has already issued an orange notice for a cold wave that is expected to hit Delhi from January 17 to 18.
However, from January 18, the temperature in Delhi NCR will gradually rise. According to the Meteorological Department, the lowest temperature will progressively rise by three to five degrees Celsius from January 18 to 20 as a result of the impact of a fresh western disturbance.
Rajasthan, South Haryana, & Delhi are still experiencing a severe cold wave
according to IMD senior scientist RK Janamani in the Delhi Yellow Alert. Another disturbance from the west is due to arrive. As a result, North India will soon begin to experience rain. On January 23 and 24, rain is possible in Punjab, Haryana. Delhi will also experience rain. The temperature will rise starting on January 18. He claimed that a cold wave and a severe winter are currently being experienced. It will be a very busy two days in Delhi.
