The FASTag rules will be modified starting on Thursday, August 1. On August 1st, the new regulations will take effect. People must adjust a few things in their Fastag account to avoid encountering issues at the toll plaza. Your Fastag will be blocked if you don’t follow these FASTag rules.
The new Fastag rule: what is it?
The most important Fastag guideline is that your Know Your Customer (KYC) procedure needs to be updated. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has mandated that Fastag accounts that are five years or older be updated. To do this, the Fastag user must verify his account’s insurance date and, if necessary, modify it.
Simultaneously,
those Fastag accounts that are three years old require a new KYC process. The 31st of October is the deadline for completing KYC via the Fastag service. By October 31st, users and businesses can finish the KYC procedure for their Fastag accounts. However, your Fastag account will be blocked on August 1st if the KYC procedure is not finished by then.
Connect your phone to Fastag.
The need that your Fastag account be connected to both your car and the vehicle owner’s phone number is another modification to the Fastag guidelines. A Fastag account can only be used for one vehicle as of April, according to the guidelines. Furthermore, it is also essential to link the account to the vehicle’s registration number. For this, the front and side photos of the vehicle will also have to be uploaded on the portal. Those who are buying a new vehicle on or after August 1, need to update their registration number within three months of purchasing the vehicle.
