The fourth-largest railway system in the world is run by Indian Railways. Through this network, 40 million passengers transit between locations every day. The Indian Railways offers reduced fares to those in need, as well as amenities appropriate to each class. Who receives the discount on train tickets?

These patients are eligible for discounts of up to 75% on the AC-3, AC Chair Car, Sleeper, Second Class, and First AC. This exemption applies to both the patient and the carer.
Cancer sufferers receive free train tickets!
Cancer patients receive up to a 75% discount on their train fare in an AC chair car when travelling for treatment. While AC-3 and sleeper are eligible for 100% concession, their entire fare is covered. Second AC Class receives a 50% fare savings in comparison to AC First Class.
In the Sleeper, AC Chair Car, AC-3 Tier, and AC-2 Tier, anaemia patients receive a 50% rail fare reduction (rail Fare reduction for Patients). Ostomy sufferers, on the other hand, receive discounted tickets for monthly and quarterly treatments in first and second-class AC.
Concessionary admission for those with leprosy
Such leprosy patients who are infection-free are eligible for a 75% discount on train fares (Train Fare Discount for Patients) for travel by train in the second, sleeper, and first classes. AIDS patients can travel in second class for up to 50% less while receiving treatment at the same time.
Patients with haemophilia receive a 75% discount on second-class, sleeper, first-class, AC-3, and AC chair cars. One more person is also given a fare concession in addition to such patients.
