Google users were shocked! Google will stop giving this service

Google

Google has said that it will no longer be providing its lengthy website link-shortening service. Previously known as “goo.gl,” this service will cease operations on August 25, 2025. After that, you will notice an error warning and the link won’t open when you try to open any that begin with “goo.gl.”

There will be a warning starting on August 23.

Before that, when you click on specific URLs, a notice will appear as of August 23, 2024. You will be informed by this warning that these links will expire shortly. This warning will only show up on a small number of links at first, but as the closing date draws near, it will start to show up on all goo.gl links. Clicking will cause a new page to open. Google reveals people who use short links (clicking on which opens the real website) to change these links as soon as possible. Failure to do so can cause problems. When someone clicks on these short links, a new page may open in between. This page can obstruct the opening of the real website and can also cause problems while sharing on social media.

In March 2019,

Google declared that its “goo.gl” short link creation service would be shutting down. They ceased making new short links after that. Although they suggested that users make alternative kinds of short links, that service has since also been terminated.

Temporary Solution

A temporary solution has been supplied by Google for developers who are still experiencing issues. To stop the new page from displaying in the middle, simply append “?si=1” to the end of the previous “goo.gl” link. With its closure, “goo.gl” joins the list of Google products that have been discontinued, which also includes Google+, Hangouts, and Stadia.
