This news is for you if you haven’t updated your Aadhaar card yet. Yes, the deadline for updating Aadhaar card information for free has been extended by the Central Government. Up until June 14, 2024, you can change your Aadhar card without paying anything. The government originally set a deadline of March 14; however, it has already extended it by three months. Following this, the free online document uploading feature has been extended until June 14 by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). According to UIDAI, this service is only accessible on the MyAadhaar portal through June 14.

Update your Aadhaar card

> First of all go to the official website of UIDAI https://uidai.gov.in/
> Now enter your UID number and the given captcha here.
> After this click on ‘Send OTP’ for the linked mobile number.
> Now select the option of ‘Update Demographics Data’.
> After selecting the relevant option, click on ‘Proceed’.
> Upload the documents related to whatever information you want to update.
> Now verify the given information before clicking on the submit button.
You can use ‘Update Request Number (URN)’ to track any changes.

‘Update Request Number (URN)’ is a useful tool for monitoring modifications.

It is important to note that, through June 14th, you can update your Aadhaar card documentation for free using the myaadhaar portal. A cost of Rs 50 is required if you visit the Aadhaar Service Centre. The government had issued a warning last year, threatening to suspend any Aadhaar service provider whose fees were excessive. Not only that, but the registrar who selects him may face a punishment of up to Rs 50,000.

the state minister of information technology and electronics, stated in parliament that UIDAI has advised all Aadhaar operators not to impose exorbitant costs for upgrading Aadhaar data. Despite this, he had said, if a complaint about receiving too much money is received, it will be investigated and if the complaint is found to be true, a fine of Rs 50,000 can be imposed on the concerned Aadhaar Enrollment Registrar. The service provider may also be stopped from working for some time. He said that any person can lodge his complaint with UIDAI through e-mail or on the toll-free number 1947.
