Statement from the government

According to the announcement, 188 lakh tonnes of wheat were purchased during the rabi marketing season 2022–2023 and 195 lakh tonnes were purchased during the rabi marketing season 2023–2024 as of April 26, 2023.

Wheat news update – Farmers will gain significantly.

Farmers have reportedly benefited greatly, according to the statement. MSP (Minimum Support Price) of around Rs 41,148 crore has already been provided to approximately 14.96 lakh farmers during the present wheat procurement activities.Wheat

The three states that produce wheat

Punjab, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh have contributed significantly to this acquisition with purchases of 89.79 lakh tonnes, 54.26 lakh tonnes, and 49.47 lakh tonnes, respectively. The statement noted that the Government of India’s easing of the quality requirements of the wheat being purchased in light of the reduction in brightness owing to unseasonal rainfall is one of the primary factors contributing to the increased procurement this year.

The central government purchases paddy

For better access, the government has enabled all the states to open additional procurement centers through cooperatives, village panchayats, arhtiyas, etc. in addition to the ones that already exist at the village and panchayat levels. Additionally, paddy procurement is proceeding without any problems.Wheat

According to the Food Ministry
