India’s Covid tally maintains downward trend with 6,168 new infections, active caseload under 60K-mark

New Delhi, Sep 2 (PTI) With 6,168 new cases of coronavirus reported in a day, the number of COVID-19 cases in India rose to 4,44,42,507, according to the updated data of the Union Health Ministry. The cases came down to 59,210. on Friday.

According to data updated at 8 am, the death toll has increased to 5,27,932 as a result of 21 new fatalities, including two deaths in Kerala resolved.

The national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.68%, according to the health ministry, and active cases make up 0.13 percent of all infections.

The active COVID-19 caseload has declined by 3,538 cases in 24 hours.

The health ministry said that the daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.94 percent while the weekly positivity rate was 2.51 percent.

The number of people cured of the disease rose to 4,38,55,365, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 percent.

According to the ministry, 212.75 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been given so far in the country under the nationwide vaccination campaign.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. On September 28th, it reached 60 lakh, and on October 11th, 70 lakh. 80 lakh were sold on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore was sold on December 19.
