Lenovo made headlines at Mobile World Congress 2024 with its newest creation, a laptop featuring a nearly transparent keypad and transparent screen. He displayed the 17.3-inch ThinkBook Transparent Display laptop, which allows you to see right through it. The smartphone boasts an eye-catching 17.3-inch bezel-less MicroLED display. The panel offers up to 55% transparency when it is turned on.
This laptop is designed specifically for creatives.
Lenovo says that artists can benefit most from this translucent laptop. With this laptop, artists can work on digital art while viewing the original through the transparent screen at the top and sketching on the touchscreen keyboard at the bottom. Artists, meanwhile, might not appreciate the hues and clarity they provide from this screen. However, drawing on the keyboard with a stylus pen is quite fun.
Although it has a highly appealing appearance,
Lenovo’s translucent laptop is not yet suitable for daily usage. Although this presents a futuristic perspective, doubts remain regarding its practicality. It is likely that as technology advances, these laptops will become more useful in the future.
Still a lot of issues
Lenovo said that this laptop had all the features and functions of a typical laptop while demonstrating it. Yet, it is not entirely appropriate for daily use given the state of technology today. Many questions come up, such as whether or not utilizing a transparent panel in different locations will interfere with research, whether or not the screen’s brightness will be excessive, and whether or not it can violate someone’s privacy. For now, the colors don’t look as good and the screen needs to be a little less transparent to make things look clearer. Since the keyboard is also transparent and does not have real buttons, the light from the screen falls on it and the touch keyboard is not visible properly.
