MG Hector Hybrid Car: Wuling Almaz Hybrid the MG Hector of Indonesia Launched with new Strong Hybrid Tech. Price – IDR 470 mill (Rs 24.5 L approx)
The global company SAIC retails almost the same cars under different brand names in multiple countries. The brand name in India is MG and in Indonesia it is Wuling. Now the Wuling brand has launched a new variant under its umbrella in the SUV called Almaz.
MG Hector recently showcased the strong hybrid as a concept and is now the Wuling brand in Indonesia.
Has launched the same tech in the new Almaz hybrid. The already-selling Almaz in Indonesia is the same SUV that is available in the Indian car market. The MG Hector, of them, offers the same engine and transmission options. The only difference between the Almaz and hector is the deficiency of ADAS in the hector variants. MG has already officially announced an updated version of hector to be launched soon, which will get the ADAS features.
Almaz Hybrid Engine and Power
The MG Hector in India currently misses the ADAS functions but the Indonesia Wuling is a step further and has launched a strong hybrid version of the Almaz SUV. The Almaz hybrid is powered by a 2litre petrol engine which is mated to an electric motor and together they power the wheels of the SUV through an e-CVT. The max output of the 2-liter petrol motor is not that great as it only produces 125 PS and 168 Nm of torque but combined with the strong electric motor the power increases to 174 Horsepower with a peak torque of 320 NM.
Due to the strong Hybrid tech present in the Almaz hybrid, the driver gets the option of 3 driving modes, EV only, Series Hybrid, and a Parallel Hybrid drive. The MG Hector Car in India does offer a hybrid option but it’s a mild hybrid tech that is combined with a petrol motor.
Design and Features of the Almaz Strong Hybrid
The overall design and looks of the SUV Almaz are the same as MG Hector but the Almaz does come with different badging and logo on the front and back of the car. The major changes in the Almaz are the addition of multiple blue accents across the model to separate it from the non-hybrid version of the SUV. A total of 4 color options are available on the Almaz hybrid which are White, Silver, Red, and Black.
The seating capacity of the Indonesian model Almaz is 7 people with a 3-row seating configuration which is the same as the Indian Mg Hector. The interior of the Almaz is covered with leather upholstery and black panels. It gets a panoramic sunroof, connected car tech, a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and many more. ADAS suite is also offered which brings in the features like lane keep Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Autonomous Emergency braking.
Price of the Wuling Almaz Strong Hybrid
The price of the Almaz Hybrid in Indonesia is IDR 470 mill which is around 24.5 Lakhs Indian rupees. We can expect the price of this version to be the same for the Indian market when launched because the current MG Hector variants are selling in the same price range in India as the Indonesian Wuling Almaz. The launch of the MG Hector Strong Hybrid is expected soon. Because many other car companies have already started introducing the Strong Hybrid version of their cars in India. The list of competition is long for Hector, some strong rivals are Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, and Harrier.
