People should participate in certain government tasks because it is crucial. One of these government initiatives was linking people’s PAN cards and Aadhaar cards. By 30 June 2023, people must link their PAN card to their Aadhaar card. The PAN cards of those individuals, however, have been inactive if they failed to link their Aadhaar cards with their PAN cards by the deadline. People can reactivate their PAN cards at the same time as the Income Tax Department releases significant news.
PAN Card
The Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and foreign citizens whose PAN (Permanent Account Number) has become invalid due to non-linking with Aadhaar should provide proof of residence address to the concerned Assessing Officer for its resurrection, according to the Income Tax Department. Must complete it. Some Overseas Indians/Overseas Citizens of Indian Origin (OCI) have expressed concern about their PAN being inoperative, according to the government.
The Income Tax Department has stated
on Twitter that if an NRI has submitted an ITR in any of the previous three assessment years or has informed the relevant Assessing Officer (JAO) of his residential status, his residential status has already been established. When an NRI hasn’t filed returns or amended his residential status in the previous three assessment years, the department claims that PANs become inactive.
As stated on Twitter by the NRI Income Tax Department
“NRIs whose PAN is inoperative are requested to submit the relevant documents to their respective Assessing Officers with a request to update their residential status in the PAN related information.”
