This information will be helpful to you if you retire from a government position and are now a pensioner. The government provides you with a monthly pension that is fixed. The annual deadline for filing the life certificate is November 1st to November 30th in order to prevent any disruptions to pension payments. Any pensioner should prioritise getting a Pension Payment (PPO) number. Yes, your PPO number must be included with the life certificate when it is submitted.pension

Pension update – PPO unique 12-digit number

Your pension could be stopped if you enter your PPO number incorrectly. Actually, it’s a special 12-digit number that aids in the pension recipient’s receipt of benefits. The PPO issuing authority’s code numbers are represented by the first five of the twelve digits. The PPO was granted in the year indicated by the sixth and seventh numerals. The PPO number is then indicated by the eighth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh numbers. The cheque digit is represented by the final twelfth digit.pension

Pension to over 69 lakh former workers

We would like to inform you that PPO is the Central Pension Accounting Office’s (CPAO) communication reference number. Currently, the Central Government provides pensions to approximately 69 lakh retired workers. In order to submit the life certificate, the pensioner must provide their name, mobile number, and Aadhaar number. In addition, the PPO number, pension account number, bank account information, and the name of the pension sanctioning authority must be provided in addition to the self-declaration.pension

Your life certificate will not be accepted

You will not be able to submit your life certificate if you do not have the 12-digit PPO number. For this reason, each and every pensioner is assigned a PPO number. With their PPO number, any pensioner can monitor their benefits. Pensioners who apply through the EPFO Member Service Portal can receive a PPO number.pension

Use this method to find the PPO number

A copy of the PPO can be downloaded from CPAO by the pensioner using a username and password after registering on the CPAO website, www.cpao.nic.in. Pensioners who have a bank account associated with EPF can also use that number to find their PF number.
