Starting on April 1, 2024, Kia plans to raise the price of all of its vehicles, including the Selto, Sonet, and Carens, by up to 3%. The corporation claims that issues with the supply chain and rising raw material costs are the reasons for this hike. It’s important to remember that the corporation is raising car pricing this year for the first time.
Hardeep Singh Brar,
National Head (Sales and Marketing), Kia India, commented on the decision to raise the price, saying, “At Kia, we always try to provide premium and technologically advanced products to our customers.” On the other hand, raw material costs are always changing. We have had to raise prices in part because of growth, because of  exchange rates and rising costs.”
He continued,
“A major part of this increase is being borne by the company itself so that customers can drive their favorite Kia cars without much impact on the pocket.” Notable is the fact that Kia India has sold over 11.6 lakh vehicles both domestically and internationally so far. With more than 6.13 lakh sold, the Selto is the best-selling vehicle among them.
Following this,
Sonet—which has sold over 3.95 lakh units—and Carens—which has sold 1.59 lakh units—are Kia’s second-best-selling vehicles. Carens is an MPV, whilst Seltos and Sonet are SUVs. Kia India has so far introduced five automobiles to the Indian market: the Seltos, Carnival, Sonet, Carens and EV6. Of these, the company has also closed down Carnival.
